A few years ago someone gave us one of those cloth hanging shelves with the days of the week on it. I think it's meant to be a classroom organizer. I kept it tucked away somewhere, not sure how to use it. After awhile I used it in the boys' closet for clothes, back when I thought we'd have time and energy and motivation to pick out a week of daily outfits for school. Ha! But this year I gave it a new use: puzzles and games holder!
I hung it from the shelves that are circling the top of the boys' bedroom. I loved it so much that I bought another one. There are plenty of normal-colored, nice ones that don't scream Preschool Classroom! but that's what I went with, since it matched the one I had. It freed up other space and the boys can easily see all their games and puzzles options, and therefore use them much more. Win/win!
Below is the arrangement we have. The one on the left is designed much better, with Velcro that wraps around the curtain rod/dowel. Try to not get one with a hanger, as the one on the right is. It is just surrounded by flimsy cardboard. We can't put much weight in that one because of its design.
Here is an assortment: Canvas hanging shelves and another. I know Ikea has some and probably most other stores with home furnishings.
Remember to think outside the box! Repurpose and reuse to make your space work for you.
Happy Thursday to you!
