In a small space, little things are big. This is kind of a silly little tip, but every bit helps.
A few years ago I was frustrated with my Ziplock boxes situation. The boxes of bags were taking up precious pantry shelf space and they'd fall all over every time I went to grab something near them. So I took the bags out of the boxes and hammered the boxes to the wall with little nails and put the bags back in them. Free, wall-mounted dispensers! More shelf space!
If I were a true minimalist I would simply cut out Ziplock bags from my life. Alas, I cannot. I've tried. For this season of my lunch-packing and snack-packing life, they are a necessary evil for me.
Looking back on it, I see that using a hammer and nails was a bit extreme. There's just something seductively powerful and decisive about holding a hammer. I've since realized that packing tape liberally applied to the back of a Ziplock bags box accomplishes the same task without putting holes in your wall. Live and learn. And live and Ziplock!
